ADP Authorized to Purchase Fifty Million Shares of Its Common Stock.

The board of directors of Automatic Data Processing, Inc., (NYSE:ADP) authorized the purchase of 50 million shares of its common stock, Arthur F. Weinbach, chairman and chief executive officer, announced today.

This is in addition to approximately 7 million shares remaining to be purchased under previous share repurchase authorizations. Since January 1, 2001 ADP has purchased approximately 13 million of its shares. ADP currently has approximately 635 million common shares outstanding.

largest independent computing services firms in the world.
