ADP Announces Strategic Alliance Expanding Client Server Series HRMS; Leading interactive communications system boosts user productivity.

ROSELAND, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 17, 1995--Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP) -- the country's largest provider of fully-integrated human resources, benefits and payroll solutions -- today announced a new strategic partnership that expands the functionality and capabilities of its Client Server Series (CSS) HRMS, the industry's leading client/server Human Resource Management System.

ADP has integrated the leading interactive communications system from TALX Corp. into CSS as optional modules. As a CSS Solution Partner, TALX will also participate in joint marketing of the products with ADP.

"Their employees can now input and retrieve their data through the telephone, fax and e-mail. And this access will be easy to implement along with our core client/server product."

CSS is a fast-growing software product and HRMS solution within ADP's National Accounts Division. There are currently more than 75 CSS users in the U.S., with nearly 30 in production.

New Features

All of TALX's applications are available now for CSS clients. TALX TeleFlex, for example, is a voice response system for flexible benefits enrollments. With it, employees can use a telephone to select from a menu of options to choose or change their company benefits and then request a fax confirmation of the transaction.

TALX has developed an interface from TeleFlex to the CSS Benefits Administration module, customized to accept and process the data coming through TeleFlex. The interface will support CSS on all supported database server platforms. Other TALX applications include (401)k inquiry and transactions and time reporting.

CSS Features and Pricing

CSS is composed of four comprehensive, fully-integrated software modules: CS Human Resources, CS Benefits Administration, CS Flexible Spending Accounts, and CS Payroll. Since Windows provides the graphical user interface, data from any CSS module can easily be shared with other popular Windows applications, such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

CSS is available on the following server platforms: Oracle 7.1 on the IBM RS/6000 under AIX and on the HP 9000 under HP-UX, Gupta SQLBase under OS/2 and Gupta and Oracle Novell Netware NLM on Intel platforms. A version for Sybase SQL Server is scheduled for later release. CSS is service-priced according to the hardware and database platform and the number of employees, with prices starting at $3,000 per month.
