This innovative, secure, full-service payroll outsourcing solution is designed to help mid-sized businesses significantly reduce the amount of time associated with payroll administration. ADP PayExpert's Internet option streamlines daily payroll tasks, increases payroll data accuracy, simplifies the payroll process with more efficient and flexible verification of employee time, and empowers businesses with more convenient access to employee data and customized reports.

ADP worked with the Inventa Corporation, a leading systems integrator of Internet Customer Interaction Solutions, to develop the Internet application that interfaces with ADP PayExpert's existing payroll processing engine and employee time collection systems. Inventa's approach to development enabled ADP to quickly address client needs for an Internet-based communication process.

Online Power

Previously, clients were required to fax reports and forms with handwritten changes to ADP PayExpert administrators. Now, ADP PayExpert's Internet application electronically transfers employee time and attendance data from timeclocks located at client sites, to the PayExpert Web site. Clients simply log onto a secure ADP Web site to easily verify data and input changes, further ensuring information accuracy. The updated and approved online report is seamlessly returned to ADP PayExpert administrators. Additionally, any employee payroll master file changes can be submitted online at a supervisor's convenience.

Using the Internet, clients now have access to standardized or customized reports and employee forms that can be reviewed and adjusted at any time. In addition, clients can download export files, such as General Ledger files in ASCII format, from the Web site and import them into software packages. An audit trail also tracks user access to each menu option.

A Secure Environment

ADP PayExpert provides clients with 24 hour-a-day, 7 days-a-week access through IBM's secure global network. Internet access to the application is password protected, encrypted and insulated by multiple firewalls. In addition, IBM's system supports client access to PayExpert's Internet option with comprehensive security procedures throughout the online session. IBM's network also provides direct links to the Internet, which helps to further ensure security and continuous application availability for PayExpert clients.

To access this application, a PC with an Internet browser, a minimum 486/66MHz processor, 16mb of memory, 10mb of available disc space and a 28.8k modem are required. ADP PayExpert clients can take advantage of this Internet application beginning January 1, 1999.
