ADP's European acquisition expands global service capabilities.

ROSELAND, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 20, 1996--With its recent acquisition of GSI, Europe's largest payroll services company, Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP) has established a significant presence in France and Germany for the first time, and has expanded its commitment to global leadership in human resource and payroll-related employer services, according to Gary C. Butler, Group President of ADP Employer Services.

In October 1995, ADP acquired controlling interest in the Paris-based GSI, which, as of January 15, 1996, has grown to 100 percent ownership of the company. With annual revenues of FF 2 billion (U.S. $400 million), GSI is Europe's largest provider of payroll-related services, serving clients throughout France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland.

Commenting on the significance of the acquisition, Mr. Butler stated, "The GSI acquisition is a major step forward, not only for ADP but also for our clients.
