ADP, Navistar Complete End-to-End Y2K Readiness Tests; Weeks-Long Process Validates Year 2000 Readiness for Exchanging Data Between Dealer and Manufacturer.

The Dealer Services Group of Automatic Data Processing, Inc., (NYSE: AUD) and Navistar International Transportation Corp. have completed tests that verify that ADP's Elite(TM) dealer management system in use at International(R) truck dealers is Y2K Ready when processing dealership data linked electronically to Navistar.

ADP conducts end-to-end manufacturer Y2K readiness tests at its dedicated Y2K laboratory in Portland, OR. The manufacturer selects the type of dealership data that it wants to test, which is done in a simulated dealership environment. For example, ADP tests the warranty claim process from the entry of claim information at a dealership -- through the electronic exchange and processing of that information at the manufacturer - back to the dealership service department where the claim originated.

During the tests, ADP advances the internal clocks of the Elite(TM) dealer management system to Dec. 30, 1999 and monitors for computer code conflicts as real time advances through the first days of January 2000. Proper date handling, including leap year calculations, is checked through 2004.

ADP has made more than 350 applications and utilities for auto and truck dealers Y2K-ready, including dealer-to-factory communication software.
