ADP conducts end-to-end manufacturer Y2K readiness tests at its dedicated Y2K laboratory in Portland, OR. The manufacturer selects the type of dealership data that it wants to test, which is done in a simulated dealership environment. For example, ADP tests the warranty claim process from the entry of claim information at a dealership -- through the electronic exchange and processing of that information at the manufacturer - back to the dealership service department where the claim originated.

During the tests, ADP advances the internal clocks of the Elite(TM) dealer management system to Dec. 30, 1999 and monitors for computer code conflicts as real time advances through the first days of January 2000. Proper date handling, including leap year leap year: see calendar.  calculations, is checked through 2004.
