ADM initiates biodiesel feasibility study. (News Briefs).


Archer Daniels Midland The Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM), is a conglomeration based in Decatur, Illinois. ADMoperates more than 270 plants worldwide, where cereal grains and oilseeds are processed into numerous products used in food, beverage, nutraceutical, industrial and animal feed  announced today that it is initiating a U.S. biodiesel feasibility study The analysis of a problem to determine if it can be solved effectively. The operational (will it work?), economical (costs and benefits) and technical (can it be built?) aspects are part of the study. Results of the study determine whether the solution should be implemented.  in conjunction with recent legislation passed in Minnesota to encourage biodiesel production. This study should be completed within six months and will determine the economic viability of processing soybean oil into a fuel that can be blended with petroleum derived diesel fuel to extend diesel supplies and improve fuel emissions. This study will be centered around the Mankato area where ADM See add/drop multiplexer.
