956 Chipset Supporting Latest Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 Processor

TAIPAI & IRVINE, Calif. -- ADLINK Technology, Inc.([R]), a leading provider of reliable test and measurement products, today announced availability of the PXI-3950, the most powerful PXI controller available on the market. The PXI-3950 combines the latest Intel[R] Core[TM]2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz processor, Mobile Intel[R] GME965 chipset and 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 memory, providing cutting-edge performance for high-end test and measurement applications, including RF testing, sound/vibration analysis and automatic optical inspection.

The PXI-3950 is also the first PXI controller designed with Mobile Intel GME965 chipset, which supports the latest Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 processor. This combination provides an overall 10 to 15 percent performance improvement over the GM945/T7400 configuration through faster CPU CPU

In addition, the PXI-3950 incorporates a dual Gigabit Ethernet port configuration, which allows the use of one GbE port for LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  connectivity and the other port for a determinative bandwidth and latency connection with LXI instruments.

"As the newest addition to ADLINK's family of PXI controllers for hybrid testing systems, the PXI-3950 integrates multiple I/O interfaces, including LXI, GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus) An IEEE 488 standard parallel interface used for attaching sensors and programmable instruments to a computer.  and serial, to support a wide variety of bench-top instruments," said Jeff Munch, chief technology officer at ADLINK. "The introduction of the PXI-3950, and utilization of Intel's new mobile chipset, demonstrates ADLINK's commitment to offering cutting edge technology for the test and measurement marketplace."

The PXI-3950 is an ideal controller for ADLINK's PXIS-2558T 8-slot 3U PXI chassis, which includes an embedded 8.4" LCD touch panel screen and features smart chassis status monitoring and control, an operating temperature of 32-131[deg]F, a quiet 41.6 dBA operating noise level and a lightweight 13 lbs rigid construction for both bench-top and portable test and measurement applications.

Pricing and Availability

The PXI-3950 system controller will be available in May at a list price of $3,650. The PXI-2558T portable chassis is currently available at a list price of $2,495.
