ADKINS TO LEAD CIVIL WAR BATTLEFIELD CHARGE

Country star TRACE ADKINS has signed on to give Civil War re-enactment fans in America a celebrity voice as they attempt to preserve classic battlefields.

The Chrome singer will be the keynote speaker at news conference about endangered Civil War battlefields at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (12Mar08).

The conference will include the reading of the Civil War Preservation Trust's annual report, which names the 10 most-threatened Civil War sites in America.

Following the news conference, Adkins and Civil War Preservation Trust President James Lighthizer will visit Arlington National Cemetery for a wreath-laying ceremony at the Civil War Unknowns MMonument.
