ADI Receives Approval to Grant Student Visas.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has approved the Automotive Dealership Institute to grant student visas to qualified international applicants.

The ability to attract students from beyond the United States gives further credibility to the school as a leading automotive management education provider. It also enables the school to serve the needs of the automotive dealership industry on a more global scale.

"It has become very difficult since 9/11 to get permission to approve student visas and we feel honored that our school has been authorized," said ADI CEO/Executive Director Alan Algan. ADI now joins Northwood University as the only schools specializing in automotive management to be able to grant student visas.

Algan said he expects considerable interest given the growing demand throughout Europe and the Asia Pacific region for instruction about dealership operations and automotive finance. ADI Dean of Education Arzu Algan recently conducted a two-day workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for 45 high-ranking bank executives from various countries in conjunction with The Asian Banker, an intelligence provider on benchmarks and emerging best practices in the financial services industry for countries in the Asian Pacific. A group of ADI officials have also traveled to London to discuss ways to better meet the needs of industry members in the United Kingdom. A series of additional workshops are scheduled in several Asian countries. The next workshop is planned on April 10-12, 2007, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

ADI is now considered a Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)-certified school for international students. Once an application has been received, ADI will verify that the applicant meets the school's criteria and conduct a telephone interview. After a visa has been granted, the student will go to the embassy in his or her own country to pay the tuition and get the necessary documentation to travel to the United States. Those traveling to the United States on a student visa have permission to arrive up to 30 days before their classes begin and can stay up to 30 days after classes end.
