ADESA Canada and Impact Auto Auctions announce the combination of their respective automobile salvage auction operations.


OTTAWA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 1995--ADESA Canada, a subsidiary of ADESA Corporation of Indianapolis, and Impact Auto Auctions, headquartered in Toronto, announced today that they will combine their automobile salvage salvage, in maritime law, the compensation that the owner must pay for having his vessel or cargo saved from peril, such as shipwreck, fire, or capture by an enemy. Salvage is awarded only when the party making the rescue was under no legal obligation to do so.  auction operations, effective October 1, 1995.

The new company will continue to operate as Impact Auto Auctions providing total loss vehicle disposal services to insurance companies. The combined company will now be managing auction facilities in six locations (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, London, Sudbury and Halifax).

Impact Auto Auction is Canada's largest auction business dealing exclusively with salvage and theft recovered vehicles for insurance companies. The combination allows Impact to maintain its position as Canada's leader in maximizing net salvage returns and assisting insurance companies in reducing claims processing costs.
