ADERANT Enhances Support for E-Billing.


Next Release of ADERANT Expert to Include Powerful New E-Billing Functionality and Full Support for LEDES XML XML
 in full Extensible Markup Language.

"The combination of the powerful new e-billing functionality we are adding to ADERANT Expert and our full support of the LEDES XML E-Billing Version 2 standard will enable law firms to better manage their e-billing processes and meet the needs of their clients.

New E-Billing Functionality

The next version of ADERANT Expert will enhance the ability of law firms to manage and control their e-billing activities. ADERANT Expert Release 7.5 will include comprehensive functionality for managing e-billing related information, including extended information about e-billing vendors and client details as well as the ability to add specific information to matter-level e-billing support contacts. In addition, the improved solution will also include a broader range of e-billing data attributes to assist firms with the administration of other e-billing information.

Functionality will be added to ADERANT's business management solution that supports code translation without requiring the matter to be part of a task-based billing plan. Additionally, matter attributes will be extended to support more production formats, enabling firms to generate e-bills in parallel with paper bills and ensuring content consistency throughout the entire billing cycle Billing cycle

ADERANT Expert Release 7.5 will include a robust rules engine to help firms ensure compliance with matter terms and reduce the number of post-submission issues and rejections. The new functionality will automatically screen and validate e-bills based on firm-defined parameters before sending an electronic invoice. The enhanced software will also include extended functionality for managing submitted bills. The new capabilities will provide firms with greater flexibility over the releasing and posting of e-bills and increase the insight billing personnel have into the disposition of e-bills.

Support for E-Billing Industry Standards

In addition to powerful new e-billing functionality, ADERANT Expert Release 7.5 will also include full support for the LEDES XML Version 2 standard. The Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard The Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard is a set of two file format specifications intended to standardize bill/invoice data transmitted electronically ("e-billed") from a law firm to a corporate client. It is abbreviated LEDES, and usually pronounced as "leeds". , or LEDES[TM], file format is the legal industry's open standard for the electronic exchange of data, especially billing information. Originally developed by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the ongoing development of LEDES has been handed over to the LEDES Oversight Committee (LOC LOC - lines of code ), a voluntary body of legal industry representatives.

ADERANT is an active member of the LOC and actively participated in the development of the LEDES XML E-Billing Version 2 standard to ensure that the new standard meets the needs of international law firms.
