ADERANT Enhances Practice Management Solution; ADERANT Back Office Release 7.0 Delivers New User Interface and Capabilities to Improve Productivity, Increase Visibility.

PHOENIX -- ADERANT, a global provider of business and financial management software for professional services organizations, today announced at the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) 2005 Educational Conference that the company has enhanced its leading financial and practice management solution, ADERANT Back Office (formerly CMS.Net). ADERANT Back Office Release 7.0 includes a new user interface and powerful functionality to help professional service firms improve end-user productivity, enhance information visibility, and better support their business processes. The general availability of ADERANT Back Office will coincide with the release of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in November 2005.

This latest version also aligns ADERANT Back Office more closely with the Microsoft .NET web services-based integration architecture as well as Microsoft Office user interface standards. These improvements will help make the solution exceptionally open and easy to use.

Driven by Client Input

ADERANT relied extensively on its clients for input on ADERANT Back Office's new functionality and extensively tested the application in a Beta program. New User Interface

ADERANT Back Office Release 7.0 includes a new intuitive navigation framework modeled on Microsoft Office. The new navigation provides users with an integrated desktop for all their applications, allowing them to organize and navigate through their available applications using a customizable, role-based folder structure.

SmartClient

ADERANT Back Office introduces an exciting new concept for improving user productivity and increasing information visibility, SmartClient, which contextually enables the practice management system. It includes:

--Interactive Navigation Menus: provides dynamic information within application menus that helps users easily identify business activities that require their attention and act on them.

--SmartLinks: enables users to drill down into -- and take action on -- key information within any standard Back Office form or inquiry.

--Homepages: provides a configurable starting screen that displays rich content, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), task lists, browser content, and more.

Charting for Browser Inquiries

New functionality in ADERANT Back Office provides users with a robust infrastructure for creating and distributing interactive charts for Browser Inquiries. The charts can be easily modified for an end-user's role as well as a firm's business requirements and provide data connectivity and drill-down capabilities, allowing users to view the data behind the chart. The charts can be embedded into Intranet and portal environments, such as Microsoft SharePoint.

General Ledger Drill Down

ADERANT Back Office Browser Inquiry has also been enhanced to allow users to quickly analyze General Ledger account balances at multiple levels, including firm, region, office, department, profit center, and employee.

General Ledger Drill Down provides users with full drill down capabilities so they can easily access detailed sub-ledger transactions. The enhancement also lets users drill up to higher level information, helping them track time entries, bills, expenses, cash receipts, and other transactions to journal entries and supporting accounts.

Web Content Integration

Release 7.0 seamlessly integrates web content with standard ADERANT Back Office forms. Firms can now deploy both Intranet and Internet content within ADERANT Back Office modules, providing users with a single view of information and functionality across all of their enterprise applications. For example, a standard ADERANT Back Office matter detail form can be extended to display documents pertaining to the matter, such as the engagement letter. This allows professionals to review the particulars of a matter's inception from within ADERANT Back Office without having to manually search through their firm's document management system.

Trust Application in Billing

Based on feedback from the CMS Users Group Inc. Enhancement Committee, new functionality to streamline the payment of invoices from trusts has been added to ADERANT Back Office Release 7.0. The enhanced trust functionality provides users with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface to review, apply, and transfer trust funds without requiring them to create several separate transactions within the Billing Desktop.

New Progress Billing Functionality

ADERANT Back Office Release 7.0 includes improvements to the Billing Desktop and Accounts Receivable modules that support fixed-fee billing by way of Progress Billing. The new functionality enables firms to bill clients a fixed amount before any work has been completed and allows the credit to be optionally applied to WIP bills, even before money has been received.

Users will also be able to view the progress available amounts on progress applied amounts by matter, eliminating the need to move from application to inquiry or screen to screen.

Native Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005
