on the importance of Balanced Scorecards to help them define, monitor, and continually manage their strategic goals.

In these informative sessions, ADERANT and Baker Robbins will discuss how Balanced Scorecards can be effective tools in helping firms continuously improve by measuring, monitoring, and adjusting performance at all levels of the organization. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC (Binary Synchronous Communications) See bisync. ) is a management system that enables organizations to clarify their vision and strategy and translate those goals into action. The event will cover BSC theory and basics as well as discuss the types of financial and non-financial key performance indicators Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are financial and non-financial metrics used to quantify objectives to reflect strategic performance of an organization. KPIs are used in Business Intelligence to assess the present state of the business and to prescribe a course of action.  (KPIs) and content that is appropriate for a BSC implementation.

ADERANT will provide a preview of Microsoft PerformancePoint Server 2007, Microsoft's upcoming framework for delivering scorecards throughout the enterprise. A key component of ADERANT Expert, PerformancePoint Server 2007 will enable firms to leverage Balanced Scorecards and other professional productivity and management tools. These innovations will reduce overall firm risk while enabling them to reach their strategic and financial goals faster.

"To compete in today's demanding legal market, firms must measure, monitor, and improve every area of the firm with a particular focus on non-financial business drivers," said Don Howren, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Support at ADERANT. "Balanced Scorecards have been used very successfully in many other industries and now the technology and best practices are available for law firms. Baker Robbins' extensive knowledge of the legal industry gives firms sound advice on how to understand and deploy these strategic initiatives."

"Each firm is unique and the metrics they choose to measure must match their strategic objectives," stated Barbara Schane-Jackson, Managing Director of Baker Robbins & Company. "Our experience has shown that relying solely on financial targets such as profits per partner, utilization, and realization are not enough. Firms need a holistic view of the organization that includes measures such as employee and client satisfaction, business development effectiveness, IT initiatives, and more. ADERANT's technology foundation enables firms to implement Balanced Scorecards quickly and expand them at their own pace."
