More than 450 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders from 25 middle schools participated in the Mathletes competition, which was held over three days in the Palmdale High School gymnasium. Students competed in teams by grade level and individually. Math problems consisted of geometry, algebra, and probability and statistical problems.
