The contemporary musical film has been delivered for distribution and is slated to be released domestically by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. International distribution will be handled by Seven Arts International.

Nearly all of the live action for "Red Riding Hood" was shot on bluescreens, with computers matching the live actors to the digital sets in real time and displaying the combined result on high-definition monitors for director Randal Kleiser's viewing reference. Although this has been done for certain sequences on feature films before, we believe that "Red Riding Hood" is one of the first films to make such visualization procedures common practice throughout the entire production. Utilizing this approach enables smaller, independent production companies to achieve high-quality production values Production values is a media term for "production cost." This film is the perfect project to challenge the standard ways to produce a feature-length film. In addition to the many creative benefits, we were able to merge a significant amount of our post-production activities with production. We anticipate that this will give TAG a distinct competitive advantage in bringing films to market more efficiently and at a lower production cost in the future."

"The production of `Red Riding Hood' represents a significant achievement as it completely redefined the workflow of conventional filmmaking. The integration of digital technology freed our imagination and eliminated common budget constraints by allowing us to bring digitally all of the movie locations directly to the set. This advanced production environment also enabled us to attract wonderful talent who shared our enthusiasm for embracing this production approach," stated Randal Kleiser, Director of "Red Riding Hood."

Manfred R. Deitz (Member): Randal Kleiser deserves accolades for this "Red Riding Hood" production 1/18/2009 4:47 PM
Randal Kleiser was almost sacrificial with his time during the production of this "Red Riding Hood" version, made into a flavor Rainbow.
Without him this would not be the revolutionary work of the artistic film, that is so evident during the 3D forest scenes shot live on set using new for the time technologies.
While the production is clear and sharp with thanks also to David Stump and many others, this movie is definitely lacking in an overall big budget feel.
Even so, the cast includes many Broadway actors like Lainie Kazan, Debi Mazar, Joey Fatone, Andrea Morgan, Ashley Rose, along with now strong much the leading man candidate Henry Cavill, and a simplified portrayal of young Morgan Thompson as Red.
This movie is a mixed reality, and a mixed up musical version as well.
Undescribeable combination, with a weak play-up into the story. So don't give up on this movie too soon.
Has some kooky moments.

The youth who played Hunter in this freedom from rules movie, Henry Cavill has now become a very strong Hollywood leading man.
Singer Joey Fatone is a popular actor and commentator now.
The songs are fun, and play in my head during the day.
