In an international competition among four firms, MulvannyG2 was chosen to develop a master plan for Qingdao Technological University Qingdao Technological University (QTech), also Qingdao Polytechnic University, is a university located in mainland China. Qingdao Technological University is a top university with enrollment of about 20,000 students in 16 schools and is ranked in the top 10 percent of technology schools in China. Today, MulvannyG2 has completed three of the five phases of the project. MulvannyG2 was asked to design this technology park for the City of Shanghai to help establish the city as a leader in world technology. To achieve that goal, the park will be designed to attract top-notch technology and research institutions from around the world. The campus includes 80 buildings, and city officials expect it will employ 4,000 doctoral graduates within the next eight years. To date, about 90 percent of the building occupants have been determined. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2006. MulvannyG2 Architecture has nearly 15 years of business experience in the Asia Pacific region. In 2003, the firm opened a Shanghai office to establish a local presence with its growing client network in China. Today, the firm has completed five projects in China and is currently engaged in 15 more.
