(Nasdaq:ADCT ADCT Adaptive Discrete Cosine Transform ; www.adc.com) a leading global supplier of network equipment, software and integration services for broadband, multiservice networks, today announced an alliance with one of Asia's largest global software and services companies, Tata Consulting Services (TCS (Transportation Control System) A widely used integrated information system for railroad transportation developed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was later implemented by Union Pacific when the companies merged. ), to expand each of their reaches throughout the Asia Pacific region. Under the terms of the alliance, TCS will undertake systems integration projects for communications providers who have selected ADC's Singl.eView(TM) customer management and convergent billing solution.

TCS will offer these services across Asia, with particular emphasis on its home market of India which, like other regional markets, is experiencing explosive growth in its telecommunications industry.

Singl.eView(TM) is the industry's first integrated, scalable customer management and convergent billing solution for integrated communication providers (ICPs). By providing ICPs with a single, real-time Web-enabled view of their customer, service and network information, Singl.eView enables them to quickly create a variety of broadband services targeted to customers' needs.

In addition, Singl.eView allows ICPs to react more quickly to changing markets because its architecture helps eliminates the need for time-consuming and costly custom coding, which can slow new product development.

"Singl.eView is proving a runaway success in Asia," said Malcolm Lower, vice president, sales Asia Pacific. "We expect this alliance will significantly extend ADC's presence in many Asian countries which are experiencing huge growth in wireless and Internet related services, as well as traditional wireline services.

"TCS is a large, highly respected organization boasting comprehensive consulting skills which will supplement those of our Global Consulting Services operation. This will allow new and established ICPs to create effective Operations Support Systems Operations Support Systems (also called Operational Support Systems or OSS) are computer systems used by telecommunications service providers. The term OSS most frequently describes "network systems" dealing with the telecom network itself, supporting processes such  necessary for success in the broadband era, based on Singl.eView."

Singl.eView is an integral part of Singularit.e, ADC's suite of products, services and enterprise application integration (EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) Refers to various techniques used to share data and business processes in large enterprises. When companies acquire another organization, disparate information systems have to be made to work together. ) connectors that allows ICPs to build open OSS Oss (ôs), city (1994 pop. 62,141), North Brabant prov., S Netherlands; chartered 1399. It is a significant industrial center. Manufactures include meat products, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electrical equipment, and metalware.  to compete more effectively in the broadband era. Singularit.e automates key OSS processes by combining real-time convergent billing, advanced customer management and service assurance technology with integration services from leading consulting companies.

"The alliance will see TCS make a significant investment in Singl.eView product training with the objective of becoming an implementation partner," said Lower. "This will allow ADC to deploy product specialists more effectively in those markets where their skills can best be used."

TCS consultants will be trained at ADC's Asia Pacific headquarters and research and development centre for customer management and convergent billing software in Brisbane, Australia.

"We have been particularly impressed with the architecture of the Singularit.e suite of products and the flexibility that it offers for the

convergent market space," said Ravi Viswanathan, head - telecom practice, for TCS. "For TCS, this provides an added dimension to address the fast-changing market space and accelerate our quest to increase the foot print in the telecommunications space in the APAC APAC Australian Partnership for Advanced Computing
