ADC TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC. ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF WASECA TECHNOLOGY INC. BY ITS KENTROX SUBSIDIARY

 MINNEAPOLIS, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- ADC Telecommunications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADCT) announced today that ADC Kentrox, its subsidiary located in Portland, Ore., has purchased Radio Frequency (RF) technology and other assets from Waseca Technology Inc. (WTI). WTI is an RF voice and data transmission development company based in Waseca, Minn. Details of the agreement were not disclosed.
 "The acquisition of WTI provides ADC with yet another core technology to help us provide the most advanced network access and transport solutions to our cellular customers," stated William J. Cadogan, ADC president and chief executive officer. "We drew on the RF transmission and advanced modulation technology residing at WTI in our development of the ADC Kentrox CityCell(TM) Digital Microcell System. Bringing that focused expertise inside the ADC family will enable us to enhance the CityCell product family and further strengthen our presence in the wireless market," added Cadogan.
 WTI was founded in August 1991 by former employees of E.F. Johnson Co. Digital Research and Data Transmission Group. The WTI employees will become ADC Kentrox employees, including Lawrence Fischer, former president of WTI and an engineer with more than 20 years RF experience, who will become director of RF Product Development for ADC Kentrox.
 ADC Telecommunications, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets a wide variety of transmission, networking and cable management products used by public network telephone service providers, broadcast and cable TV networks and private telecommunications networks. ADC Kentrox is a leading supplier of high-performance network access and transport solutions for T1, FT1, T3, E1, E3, and fast packet public and private enterprise networks.
