(Nasdaq:ADCT ADCT Adaptive Discrete Cosine Transform ; www.adc.com) announced today that tele.ring, a provider of wireless and wireline voice and data services in Austria, is now using ADC's Metrica(TM) Service Assurance solution for its telecommunications network. The Metrica deployment will help tele.ring manage network performance to support its rapidly expanding subscriber base.

During 2001, tele.ring increased its overall customer base by more than 62 percent and more than doubled its number of wireless subscribers. As a result, tele.ring needed a network performance management solution that would both keep pace with its growth and support additional service offerings on the network.

"We offer our customers complete GSM network coverage, and network optimization is critical to our delivery of these high-capacity services," said Michael Goss, CTO (Chief Technical Officer) The executive responsible for the technical direction of an organization. This allows us to proactively manage our network service quality and helps us plan future service enhancements."

"Tele.ring has been very aggressive in grabbing market share in Austria, and as a result has experienced significant growth," said Jamie Stone, vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa for ADC. "Service-quality strategies are essential to maintain a customer base, especially as providers add new subscribers and new services on a network. By using Metrica, tele.ring now has a much more customer-centric view of their network to support higher service-quality levels."

ADC has deployed its Metrica Service Assurance solutions in more than 200 networks around the world.
