BellSouth will use a wide array of ADC products ranging from digital signal cross connects (DSX DSX Digital Cross Connect

), optical cross connects (OX), and FiberGuide(R) fiber cabling systems that will allow the company to realize volume-based savings. The products are approved for use throughout BellSouth's nine-state southeastern United States territory. The agreement also calls for the consideration of ADC systems integration services in deploying the products and systems.

BellSouth's e-Platform initiative incorporates the robust network infrastructure that delivers reliable dial tone everyday with the latest in fiber optic connectivity, hardware and software to create the ideal environment for hosting data-intensive applications and services. The BellSouth e-Platform uses the latest in connectivity options including DWDM (Dense WDM) The term given to wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) when significantly more channels were being added.
