"I am looking forward to joining the ADC team and working with them to continue the great momentum they have developed in the broadband equipment, software and services markets," said Hilbert. "The communications industry is fundamentally reshaping itself and companies have the ability to aggressively reinvent themselves to the new industry realities. I am excited about the strategy ADC is undertaking to evolve themselves and am looking forward to helping ADC to become a leader in the industry."

Hilbert, as Group Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Alcatel USA, was responsible for the sales and marketing of all Alcatel products and services to service providers located in the U.S., including their international subsidiaries. Under his leadership, Alcatel increased its U.S. market dominance in DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) and NGDLC NGDLC - Next Generation Digital Loop Carrier (Next Generation Digital Loop Carrier) platforms. They also grew their market share in ATM/MPLS platforms, microwave radios and optical/transport products.

Hilbert's experience includes leading the sales efforts with the U.S.'s major wireline and wireless telecommunications providers including SBC, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, BellSouth, and Qwest. His expertise crosses a variety of technology platforms including NGDLCs, DSL systems, optical transport products, wireless local loop products, and circuit and packet switching and routing platforms. His accomplishments include securing several multi-hundred million-dollar contracts with multiple accounts.

Prior to joining Alcatel, Hilbert served in a variety of capacities with DSC Communications, which was purchased by Alcatel in 1998. While at DSC, Hilbert served in a variety of sales management and general management/product development roles. He was instrumental in helping DSC to achieve it's market leading positions in NGDLC, digital cross-connects and intelligent network products with the Bell Operating companies and other major carriers.

Hilbert started his career in communications at ADC where he served as an account manager from 1983 -1985. Hilbert holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering Management from the University of North Dakota.
