CrossPATH Max supports the diverse topologies and various air interfaces found in mobile cellular and PCS (1) (Personal Communications Services) Refers to wireless services that emerged after the U.S. government auctioned commercial licenses in 1994 and 1995. This radio spectrum in the 1.  networks today. In addition, its seven-slot modular architecture with distributed processing power will smooth the migration to 3G and wireless IP data support in the future.

"CrossPATH Max gives wireless service providers the flexibility to provision, protect and migrate networks quickly and cost-effectively," said Bob Montgomery, director of wireless markets for ADC's Access Products Division. "CrossPATH Max directly addresses customer churn, the most serious concern of wireless providers today, with multiple features to reduce service interruptions and cell-site downtime."

These features include Smart Bypass, providing easy-to-configure, module-level alternate mapping schemes for protecting critical T1 circuits and applications, such as CDPD (Cellular Digital Packet Data) A low-speed, digital, wireless data network that is an enhancement to an existing analog cellular network. Based on IBM's CelluPlan II, CDPD provides a packet overlay onto the AMPS network and moves data at 19. , SS7 and control-link signals. Transport managers can configure their network to automatically redirect designated application traffic at each cell site to alternate circuits. Wireless service providers can also use Smart Bypass to design self-healing ring topologies that reduce the need for redundant circuits at each cell site.

CrossPATH Max can be configured to terminate or provide digital access cross connections for up to 28 T1 or E1s. By extending DACS capabilities to the network perimeter, cell-site voice and data traffic can be routed and switched among multiple T1/E1 ports for greater flexibility and efficiency. CrossPATH Max can also double analog voice bandwidth efficiency with an available ADPCM (Adaptive Differential PCM) A widely used variation of PCM that codes the difference between sample points like differential PCM (DPCM), but can also dynamically switch the coding scale to compensate for variations in amplitude and frequency.  module option for increased capacity.

CrossPATH Max is currently available to order with list price for a typical configuration starting at $5,000. For more information, call ADC at 1-800-733-5511 or visit our website at www.adc.com/access.
