ADC Expands Systems Integration Capabilities with Acquisition of Da Tel Fibernet; Acquisition enhances ADC's single source solution for support services and customized system integration.

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 1996-- ADC Telecommunications, Inc., announced today that is has acquired Da Tel Fibernet, a leading telecommunications firm whose portfolio includes engineering, design and installation services. Da Tel Fibernet also manufactures telecommunications infrastructure products for voice, data and video services delivery. ADC has agreed to purchase Da Tel Fibernet through a stock transaction valued at approximately $14 million. Da Tel Fibernet will become a part of ADC's Systems Integration Group.

The acquisition incorporates Da Tel Fibernet's expertise in providing turn-key engineer, furnish and install (EF&I) services with ADC Systems Integration's design, management and installation capabilities. In addition, the cable racks, relay racks, and power distribution and fuse panels produced by Da Tel Fibernet's manufacturing group complement ADC's extensive product offering. As a result, customers will benefit by the ability to partner with a single source for complete systems integration solutions for their new or expanding telecommunications networks.

With Da Tel Fibernet's well-established presence in the eastern and southeastern United States, the ADC Systems Integration Group expands its geographic coverage and increases customers' access to ADC's products and services.

The ADC Systems Integration Group was formed in November of 1995 by combining ADC's extensive technical experience in telephony, cable television and wireless networks with its ability to provide complete network integration services including design, delivery, installation and support of broadband systems.

Da Tel Fibernet, headquartered in Chickamauga, Georgia, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of The ADC Systems Integration Group, reporting to Jo Anne Anderson. Da Tel was formed in 1977 and currently employs 250 people.
