(Nasdaq: ADCT ADCT Adaptive Discrete Cosine Transform ; www.adc.com) today announced that it has been chosen by Rapid Broadcasting to supply complete transmission systems for it's new stations in Sioux Falls and Rapid City, S.D. The total value of the systems ordered is approximately $1.3 million.

Rapid Broadcasting recently acquired licenses to build two new full service stations, replacing existing low power installations in South Dakota. "We have worked with ADC's low power transmitters for many years," said Mike Morgan, director of development for Rapid Broadcasting. "We chose ADC for these high power projects based on their overall technical capabilities as well as the quality and high level of customer support we have come to expect from them over the years."

Rapid Broadcasting chose ADC for these projects based on ADC's experience with two specific types of IOT amplifiers, mentioned above, in it's Visionary(TM) Series transmitters. These units use feed-forward driver amplifiers for highly linear performance, and are easily upgradeable to Visionary(TM) DTs for digital television.

"We are committed to utilizing the latest available technology, allowing us to provide the most attractive solutions to the individual needs of our customers," said Rich Dell, product manager for ADC's Broadcast Systems Division. "In the case of Rapid Broadcasting, we were able to provide 70kW output power from a single tube transmitter, rather than a two-tube transmitter supplied by other vendors. This results in significant savings for our customer."
