ADC Awarded BroadAccess Extension Contract in Turkey Valued at 4.3$ million.

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 2000

 (Nasdaq:ADCT ADCT Adaptive Discrete Cosine Transform ; www.adc.com ), a leading global supplier of network equipment, software and integration services for broadband multiservice networks, today announced the extension of its contract with Turk Telekom of Turkey for supply of the BroadAccess Multiservice Access Platform (MAP). With this extension, Turk Telekom expects to provide around 100,000 subscriber lines using BroadAccess. This project is jointly implemented with ADC's Turkish partner, Aydin Yazilim ve Elektronik San A.S. (AYESAS).

"BroadAccess is used in Turkey to bring fiber closer to homes and business parks and to enrich subscribers with advanced voice and data services. Highly satisfied with the system's performance, Turk Telekom chose BroadAccess to be the fiber-based access system with the widest deployment in Turkey".

BroadAccess (available in international markets only) is deployed in more than 50 countries worldwide. It is a sophisticated fiber-based multiservice access platform, which is designed to enable the delivery of narrowband and broadband services from POTS to xDSL on a single shelf. The platform interfaces to local exchanges through V5.2/V5.1 digital protocols or 2W connections and to ATM backbones through E1s or STM-1 User Network Interface (UNI).

AYESAS designs, manufactures, integrates and maintains electronic equipment, software and communication systems for the Turkish government, including the Ministry of Defense and Turk Telekom.
