It is currently the largest mobile telephony operator in Taiwan with more than 3.5 million subscribers. Covering the whole of Taiwan, CHT will use the Metrica/NPR solution to enhance its network performance and service quality.

Metrica/NPR, used by 160 mobile and fixed networks around the world, stores large volumes of performance measurement data and provides daily, weekly and monthly reports on a wide range of operating parameters, such as traffic and grade of service. Operators use this information to forecast network growth, diagnose diagnose /di·ag·nose/ (di´ag-nos) to identify or recognize a disease.

In addition to Metrica/NPR, CHT will use Metrica/PAS (performance alarm server) to monitor both performance data and historical data stored by Metrica/NPR against thresholds and alert operators to potential abnormalities. As part of the implementation, CHT will be able to view network performance information in its geographical context and display performance highlights, trends and faults on maps.
