ADC's METRICA/NPR Chosen by Clearnet for PCS and iDEN Networks.

ADC Telecommunications Inc. (NASDAQ:ADCT; www.adc.com), announced today that its Metrica/NPR network performance management solution has been chosen by Canadian wireless provider Clearnet for use with Clearnet's two digital wireless communications networks.

Clearnet will rely on Metrica/NPR (network performance reporting) to manage performance statistics collected from both its national Clearnet personal communications services (PCS) network, which is based on code-division multiple access (CDMA) technology supplied by Lucent Technologies, and its Mike enhanced specialized mobile radio (ESMR) network, based on Motorola's iDEN technology.

The Metrica/NPR solution will store large volumes of performance measurement data and provide daily, weekly and monthly reports on a wide range of operating parameters, such as traffic and grade of service. In addition, Clearnet will use Metrica/PAS (performance alarm server) to monitor both performance data and historical data stored by Metrica/NPR against thresholds, and alert operators to potential abnormalities.

In looking for a performance management solution, Clearnet considered a number of options before choosing Metrica from ADC.
