(Nasdaq:ADCT ADCT Adaptive Discrete Cosine Transform ; www.adc.com) today announced that the Cuda(TM) 12000 Next-Generation cable modem termination system A cable modem termination system or CMTS is equipment typically found in a cable company's headend, or at cable company hubsite and is used to provide high speed data services, such as cable internet or Voice over IP, to cable subscribers.  (CMTS) has received Euro-DOCSIS(TM) 1.1 qualification from the Euro-DOCSIS Certification Board. With Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 qualification, the Cuda 12000 has achieved another industry recognized 'seal of approval,' further supporting leading European cable operators in their current deployments of high-speed data services and other advanced services such as IP telephony The two-way transmission of voice over a packet-switched IP network, which is part of the TCP/IP protocol suite. The terms "IP telephony" and "voice over IP" (VoIP) are synonymous. .

The Cuda 12000 is the most widely deployed next-generation, carrier-class CMTS platform with over 800 systems installed in the U.S., Europe and Asia. By meeting the requirements for Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 qualification, the Cuda 12000 is fully tested to interoperate with other Euro-DOCSIS certified devices such as cable modems and multimedia terminal adapters (MTAs) in an advanced IP network.

"Cable operators in Europe are building on the Cuda 12000's performance, state-of-the-art RF performance and carrier-class reliability as a solid foundation for their next generation networks," said Hilton Nicholson, president of the IP Cable Business Unit for ADC. "As we have demonstrated through our participation in commercial VoIP networks, ADC has the field-proven experience to help operators implement the 'triple play' of voice, video and data. We are pleased to achieve the significant milestone of Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 qualification, and we expect the Cuda 12000 to continue to gain acceptance by MSOs worldwide."
