ADAPTIX and Sindhara Announce Technology Agreement; Sindhara's QwikStream Plus to Deliver High-Resolution Multimedia Services Over ADAPTIX Dynamic Wireless Broadband Platform.

SEATTLE -- ADAPTIX Inc., a leader in software defined, all-IP wireless mobile broadband Description
Mobile Broadband is a type of wireless internet access that differs from Wi-Fi.

Mobile Broadband is the name used to describe the 3G services which are made possible by HSDPA and HSUPA, the latest technologies on the W-CDMA evolutionary path.
access technologies, today announced an agreement to integrate Sindhara SuperMedia's QwikStream Plus(TM) video encoding technology into its growing suite of application services See ASP and Web services. , enabling the delivery of a variety of on demand multimedia and high resolution video services to WiMAX enabled devices. Sindhara is at the forefront of wireless multimedia delivery solutions based on its unique implementation of wavelet (mathematics) wavelet - A waveform that is bounded in both frequency and duration. Wavelet tranforms provide an alternative to more traditional Fourier transforms used for analysing waveforms, e.g. sound.  technology, scalable across a range of platforms. As part of the agreement, Sindhara will work exclusively with ADAPTIX for the deployment of the technology for WiMAX, 802.16(e) and WiBro products.

A higher level of complexity is involved when delivering video and multimedia content wirelessly, due to constantly changing signal quality and coverage geography. Sindhara's QwikStream Plus encoding platform is intrinsically robust and enables high quality transmission of multimedia services in challenging wireless environments. Combined with ADAPTIX' resource efficient OFDMA/TDD platform, service and content providers can offer anywhere, anytime downloads of crisp, clear video and multimedia content to their subscribers quickly and cost effectively.

"Broadband technologies such as mobile WiMAX See WiMAX and 802.16.  are driven by the growing global demand for converged services such as streaming audio A one-way audio transmission over a data network. It is widely used on the Web as well as company networks to play audio clips and Internet radio. Computers in home networks stream audio (mostly music) to digital media hubs connected to home theaters. , video, and mobile gaming," said Vern Fotheringham, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of ADAPTIX. "Sindhara's video encoding technology will enable service providers to deliver rich video and multimedia content over ADAPTIX networks with incredible bandwidth and spectral efficiency Spectral efficiency or spectrum efficiency refers to the amount of information that can be transmitted over a given bandwidth in a specific digital communication system. ."

"We're very excited about the prospect of working with ADAPTIX to deliver this advanced form of multimedia technology," said Dr. Jay Ramasastry, CEO of Sindhara. "Combining ADAPTIX' IP-based broadband wireless See wireless broadband.  technology with our QwikStreamPlus(TM) platform will help customers receive exceptional high-resolution video over evolving broadband wireless networks."

ADAPTIX will preview Sindhara's QwikStream Plus technology on the ADAPTIX OFDMA/TDD wireless broadband High-speed wireless transmission of data. What is "high" speed is always a changing number. Wireless systems are typically slower than land-based, wireline networks. In the past, wireless broadband started at 250 Kbps, whereas land-based broadband was generally considered to start at T1  platform at Supercomm 2005 in Chicago, June 6-9, 2005, booth 37022.
