WESTLAKE VILLAGE - If Westlake pitcher Tyler Adamczyk had not allowed a hit in the seventh inning Wednesday, he would have been surprised to see his teammates run out to mob him on the mound.

``Until the game was over, I had no idea I was throwing a no-hitter,'' said Adamczyk, who gave up only a one-out double in the seventh inning of a 3-0 Marmonte League The Marmonte League is a high school sports league primarily made up of schools from Ventura County. ``When you're in a zone like that, your teammates just leave you alone. But now that I know, I'm mad about that hit.''

Adamczyk was half-joking; he couldn't be too upset with a nine- strikeout, three-walk performance that kept the Warriors undefeated this season at 13-0, 6-0 in league.

The 6-foot-6 junior kept the Pioneers (8-5, 3-3) off balance by mixing his fastball and slider A block of material that holds the read/write head of a magnetic disk. See flying head.  - and throwing strikes consistently.

``He pitched a great game,'' Simi Valley coach Joe Gordon

Simi Valley provided a meaningful challenge for Westlake.

The Pioneers fell behind 1-0 in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Ryan McCarthy, but Jerad Weaver retired 12 of the next 15 batters he faced to keep the Pioneers in the game.

They had their best scoring chance in the sixth inning, when Winston Cuan and Chris Froehlich led off with walks, but things fell apart quickly. John Day missed a bunt attempt, and Cuan was picked off second on a throw by catcher Michael Nickeas. Day then grounded out and Danny Turock struck out looking to end the inning.

Westlake added two runs in the bottom of the sixth on a single by Nickeas and a run-scoring fielder's-choice groundout ground·out

Adamczyk's bid for a no-hitter ended when Eric Peach doubled to right field with one out, but he struck out the side to end the game.

It was Adamczyk's third complete game and lowered his ERA to 0.56. In 25 innings, he has allowed two earned runs earned run
