ADAM, COHEN NAMED AS CALARTS TRUSTEES.

VALENCIA - Aileen Adams and Joseph Cohen have been named to the California Institute of the Arts board of trustees.

Adams was first involved with the Valencia arts college as a parent of a CalArts student; her son, Gabriel Cowan, graduated in 2000.

She served California as the secretary of the State and Consumer Services Agency, responsible for 12 state departments, including civil rights enforcement and state building projects.

Adams also served as the head of the federal Office for Victims of Crime, serving as the nation's chief advocate for crime victims' rights victims' rights, rights of victims to have a role in the prosecution of the perpetrators of crimes against them. Nearly all U.S. states have enacted some victims' rights legislation.
