A CLOSE friend of Johnny Adair is facing life in jail for the brutal murder of his fiancee.

Andrew Robinson, 24, stabbed Julieann Osbourne 41 times in their home on Belfast's Shankill Road.

Robinson has known UFF chief Adair for years and was photographed beside him at loyalist protests.

Friends and family of 22-year-old Julieann screamed "you deserve all you get" after the jury unanimously found the thug guilty.

Last night Julieann's father Tom told the Daily Mirror: "We've got justice now and he will rot in Hell for what he did to my daughter.

"He brutally murdered her and I hope he spends as long as possible in prison.

"I'll never forget finding out my daughter had been murdered and I play that day over and over again in my head."

Julieann's stepmother Diane Osbourne revealed how Robinson was a "control freak" who liked to think he was a big shot in the UFF's notorious C Company.

She added: "From the day he met Julieann on a blind date he always wanted to control every aspect of her life.

"She was a lovely, bubbly, bright girl and he did all he could to destroy her. He liked to go on about how he was in with the UDA crowd, and he was even pictured with Johnny Adair. How heavily involved he was we'll probably never know.

"All the way through the trial, from when he was charged just days after he murdered her, he maintained that he was innocent.

"He seemed to believe he would actually get away with it. He thought he was so clever that he could murder someone and cover it up.

"He even threatened to kill me once when I had a go at him for the way he treated Julieann.

"People believed throughout the trial he was somehow on the periphery of the murder but now everybody knows he killed her.

"We'll never get over what has happened, but seeing him found guilty of such a brutal murder will make closure that bit closer."

The jury heard that Robinson stabbed Julieann after she broke off their engagement and threatened to bar him from seeing their baby daughter Melissa again.

He then "stage-managed" the discovery of her blood-soaked body on December 27 two years ago in the bedroom of the Shankill Terrace home.

Robinson vowed to kill "the bastards - and their family" for murdering his fiancee.

But the court heard that two days earlier, following a Christmas party, Robinson assaulted Julieann, leaving her with a black eye and a cut forehead.

Robinson will be sentenced to life at a separate hearing.
