ADAC Laboratories Appoints R. Andrew Eckert Chairman of the Board.

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1999--

ADAC Laboratories (Nasdaq: ADAC) today announced that its board of directors has appointed R. Andrew Eckert, ADAC's chief executive officer, as chairman of the board of directors.

Mr. Eckert joined ADAC as a senior manager in 1990. In 1994, he was named president and general manager of ADAC's Medical Systems Division, with direct responsibility for the company's nuclear medicine, radiation therapy products and customer support business units. In 1996, he was elected to ADAC's board of directors. He became ADAC's president and chief operating officer in March 1997, and in August of 1997, he was promoted to chief executive officer. He holds BS and MBA degrees from Stanford University. Mr. Eckert assumes the role of chairman from David L. Lowe, who will remain a member of the board of directors.

Mr. Lowe joined ADAC in 1988, and became president and a director of the company in 1992. He served as chief executive officer from 1994 until 1997 and as chairman of the board since 1996. Mr. Lowe is vice chairman of Friedman Fleischer & Lowe LLC, a San Francisco-based private investment firm.
