) announced today that preliminary results from a multi-center trial for the Company's VANTAGE(TM) non-uniform attenuation Loss of signal power in a transmission.
Attenuation

The reduction in level of a transmitted quantity as a function of a parameter, usually distance. It is applied mainly to acoustic or electromagnetic waves and is expressed as the ratio of power densities.
correction were presented at the annual Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) meeting held this week in Denver, Colorado.

The results demonstrate that VANTAGE provides physicians with the improved image quality required to achieve greater clinical efficiency, diagnosis accuracy and physician confidence. The diagnostic benefits of VANTAGE are discussed in seven abstracts presented at the SNM meeting.

VANTAGE is designed to improve the accuracy in the detection of cardiac disease by correcting image distortions created by the non-uniform variations of tissue density in the body. The use of VANTAGE is expected to improve the clinical accuracy of cardiac diagnosis and improve the cost effectiveness in cardiac patient management.

Dr. Robert Hendel, Co-Director of Nuclear Cardiology, Northwestern University Hospital and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, stated, "The multi-center investigation of VANTAGE included over 300 patients at 6 sites. The preliminary results, thus far, suggest a significant improvement in normalcy rate, or diagnostic specificity, using VANTAGE. These affects are primarily noted in patients suspected of diaphragmatic attenuation. Therefore, the use of VANTAGE may result in a significant reduction in false positive profusion studies in patients that lack evidence of coronary disease."

Dr. Daniel Berman, Director of Nuclear Cardiology, Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Professor of Medicine, UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles
UCLA University Center for Learning Assistance (Illinois State University)
UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX
School of Medicine, Los Angeles, stated, "We use VANTAGE as a routine patient study and find that it is a useful addition to myocardial myocardial /myo·car·di·al/ (-kahr´de-al) pertaining to the muscular tissue of the heart.

. VANTAGE provides physicians with the ability to simultaneously look at uncorrected and corrected images. The directional change that VANTAGE displays enables us to detect attenuation artifacts and thereby increase diagnostic confidence and eliminate the need to perform additional acquisition procedures. In the future, attenuation correction capability may pave the way to absolute quantification of myocardial tracer uptake, potentially leading to a dramatic improvement of assessing the viability of the myocardial and the extent of coronary artery disease coronary artery disease, condition that results when the coronary arteries are narrowed or occluded, most commonly by atherosclerotic deposits of fibrous and fatty tissue. ."

ADAC also announced a joint development agreement with Emory University to develop future generations of VANTAGE enhancements.
