For the fourth quarter ended Sept. 29, 1996, ADAC reported its ninth consecutive quarter of increased revenues. The company generated a record $64.9 million of revenues in the fourth quarter, a 29 percent increase over the $50.2 million reported for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1995. This increase was attributed to a nine percent increase in service revenue and a 38 percent increase in product revenue.

, a 69 percent increase over the $2.8 million, or 16 cents per share, reported in the fourth quarter of fiscal 1995. ADAC also reported record bookings of $74 million in the fourth quarter, adding an additional $9 million of backlog.

For the fiscal year ended Sept. 29, 1996, ADAC reported revenues of $240.8 million, a 30 percent increase over the $184.8 million reported for the previous fiscal year. For fiscal 1996, ADAC achieved net income of $16.6 million, or 90 cents per share, reflecting a slight increase in total calculated shares. Earnings per share increased approximately 38 percent from fiscal 1995, when the company achieved net income of $11.1 million, or 65 cents per share.

In making this announcement, David L. Lowe, Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are very pleased with our strong results in fiscal 1996. In addition, we are delighted to have won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is given by the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology. Through the actions of the National Productivity Advisory Committee chaired by Jack Grayson, it was established by the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality  this past October."

Commenting on the elimination of the company's quarterly dividend of 12 cents per share, Lowe said, "There are a number of growth opportunities internally as well as through acquisitions in our core businesses of nuclear medicine and health care information systems. As a consequence, the Board decided that shareholder value could be enhanced, both in the short-run and the long-term, by reinvesting our corporate funds in the business as opposed to continuing to pay quarterly dividends."

In addition, ADAC Laboratories today announced separately that it will acquire its long-term partner Geometrics Corporation, in a transaction valued at approximately $3.9 million. Geometrics is a developer of specialized spe·cial·ize
