It was learned that the World Trade Center Dental practice in Building Five, connected to the twin towers by an underground mall, was the only dental practice at Ground Zero.

An article in Dental Equipment & Materials in September 2002 detailed the struggle of the practice to get back on its feet and invited those interested to assist in its revitalization. , contacted the practice via its representative Renee Clavell and discussed providing funds for the five dental assistants including Ms. Clavell, whose personal items and educational materials had been destroyed. Eventually, the Foundation was able to provide each with a check for $300 and the ADAA provided each with a year's free membership. The funds were dispersed in mid-December 2002.
