ADAA/Colgate community volunteer award: Dental Assistants involved in serving the community.Since 1999, ADAA ADAA Anxiety Disorders Association of America ADAA American Dental Assistants Association ADAA Art Dealers Association of America (since 1962; New York City, NY, USA) ADAA Aberdeen and District Angling Association in conjunction with Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of the Colgate-Palmolive Company, has offered this award in recognition of ADAA members for their involvement in community preventive preventive /pre·ven·tive/ (pre-vent´iv) prophylactic. pre·ven·tive or pre·ven·ta·tive adj. Preventing or slowing the course of an illness or disease; prophylactic. n. oral health care projects. Award Each year, there is the potential for three recipients to receive a commemorative plaque A commemorative plaque, or simply plaque, is a plate of metal, ceramic, stone, wood, or other material, typically attached to a wall, stone, or other vertical surface, and bearing text in memory of an important figure or event. . The first place winner will receive a $600 donation, for their Local/State, plus travel and two days hotel accommodation to the Annual Conference for one member of the project, selected by members of the participating group. The second place winner will receive a $400 donation for their Local/State. The third place winner will receive a $200 donation for their Local/State. Rules Award recipients will be notified immediately following the judging. Presentation to the first place winners will be made at the ADAA Annual Conference by ADAA and Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals. Eligibility Eligibility is limited to ADAA members: * Study groups * Local Societies * State Associations (Any Local/State or contact person responsible for implementing a community program concerned with some aspect of preventative oral health may submit an entry.) Community projects are those that document a community need and have specific measurable objectives, including Problem, Objective, Actions, Resources and Evaluation. Community programs must involve volunteer dental assistants dental assistant n. A person trained to assist a dentist with clinical and administrative procedures. and may include other volunteer members of the oral health care team.
