) today announced that its President, Dr. Michael Durham, and Director of Clean Coal Technology, Dr. Nina French, presented testimony at the House Ways and Means WAYS AND MEANS. In legislative assemblies there is usually appointed a committee whose duties are to inquire into, and propose to the house, the ways and means to be adopted to raise funds for the use of the government. This body is called the committee of ways and means.  Committee Hearing on Energy and Tax Policy yesterday, April 19.

The focus of the hearing was the utility of tax incentives in encouraging the further development, expanded production, and increased utilization of clean and renewable energy Renewable energy utilizes natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation. . Following previous testimony on how the U.S. can help reduce the growing risks stemming from climate change by encouraging the development and use of alternative sources of energy, this hearing took a deeper look into the current framework of tax incentives, seeking ways to update and improve future policies to develop and expand innovative technologies.

ADA-ES' testimony centered on the importance of ensuring that coal continues to be a vital part of the Nation's energy mix. ADA-ES' testimony discussed the importance of using R&D funding and tax incentives as a catalyst to stimulate the development of cost effective technology to control emissions from coal-fired power plants.

ADA-ES' oral and written testimony was based on its experience in developing the mercury control market and Refined Coal technology with support from government R&D and tax credits, which stimulated the development of innovative solutions to emission control The selective and controlled use of electromagnetic, acoustic, or other emitters to optimize command and control capabilities while minimizing, for operations security: a. detection by enemy sensors; b. mutual interference among friendly systems; and/or c.  at coal-fired power plants.
