ADA Award Brings Nutrition Guru and Her Superfood to Philly.

Heinz's Director of Nutrition to Receive Prestigious Award and Educate ADA FNCE Attendees About the Importance of Superfoods

PITTSBURGH -- Idamarie Laquatra, Director of Nutrition for the H. J. Heinz Company (NYSE:HNZ), will be recognized with the prestigious Medallion Award from the American Dietetic Association at the 2007 American Dietetic Association Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (ADA FNCE), held September 28 - October 2, 2007 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia.

The Medallion is presented each year to members of the ADA who have a minimum of ten years membership in the organization and have demonstrated leadership, service and a high standard of dedication to the nutrition field.

Laquatra has more than 25 years experience in nutrition counseling and has spent 10 years with the H. J. Heinz Company. She was named Outstanding Dietitian of Pennsylvania in 2002 and is the co-author of Unlock the Power of Lycopene: REDefining Your Diet with Lycopene and Tomatoes, as well as several other journal articles, chapters in texts and books.

The award will be presented at a special honors breakfast on Sunday, September 30.

Laquatra and Heinz Educate About Importance of "Superfoods"

While at ADA FNCE, Laquatra and Heinz will give attendees the tools they need to change lives by educating them about the benefits of "superfoods," which are foods more nutrient-dense than most others. As part of the education outreach, Heinz will sample products that feature tomatoes as superfoods, distribute educational information and offer giveaways at their booth (#1205).

Heinz will be donating the leftover food from its superfood product sampling, still factory packed, to local charity Philabundance, which provides food to the needy in Philadelphia.
