"Redefining `SAFE': A Non-Technical Briefing of Pressing Drinking Water Challenges" will be held May 4 at Harrah's Hotel, South Shore Room, in conjunction with the ACWA 1999 Spring Conference May 5-7. The briefing is geared towards water agency managers, directors, attorneys and other non-technical members of the water community. It will begin with a look back at the accomplishments and challenges of the 25 years since the passage of the landmark Safe Drinking Water Act in 1974, and the major amendments to that act passed in 1996.
