ACWA Briefing to Focus on Water Supply Challenges, Opportunities.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 2001

The link between land use and water supply availability is among the topics to be examined at a briefing September 12 at the Westin Horton Plaza, San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay. .

), will offer insight into a number of changes and opportunities facing water suppliers. It is expected to draw local water agency directors, managers and staff from throughout California.

Topping the agenda is the ongoing debate over development and water supply. The issue is the subject of a major bill awaiting final action before the Legislature adjourns September 14. Speakers will include representatives of local government, the California Building Industry Association, American Farmland Trust American Farmland Trust (AFT) is an organization founded to preserve farmland in the United States and to promote sustainable farming practices.
