ACURA INTRODUCES 1994 INTEGRA SPORTS COUPE AND SEDAN

TORRANCE, Calif., July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Acura Automobile Division today unveiled the first of its 1994 luxury performance cars, introducing the all-new Acura Integra Sports Coupe and Sports Sedan. The latest version of Acura's entry-level Integra line features extensive upgrades in performance, comfort and safety features that set this third-generation Integra apart from its predecessors. With the introduction of the new Integra, all 1994 Acura automobiles will have a driver's and front passenger's air bag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) as standard equipment.
The 1994 Integra is available in RS, LS and GS-R models. The RS and LS are powered by a 1.8-liter, 142-hp, DOHC 16-valve engine and offer a choice of either 5-speed manual or optional 4-speed automatic transmission. The GS-R Sports Coupe and Sedan feature a 170-hp version of the 1.8-liter engine, with the Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system pioneered in the NSX sports car, and a dual stage intake manifold. GS-R models are equipped exclusively with a close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission.
A fully independent double wishbone suspension gives the 1994 Integra sporty, responsive handling and excellent ride comfort. Variable-assist power steering and power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes are standard on all models, with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) standard on LS and GS-R models.
A new safety feature in the Integra Sports Coupe and Sedan are standard driver's and front passenger's air bag Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS). Additional safety features include front and rear body crumple zones, side-intrusion beams and side-impact pads, long-reach projector beam headlights, and three-point outboard seat belts.
For driving comfort, all 1994 Integra models include an AM/FM stereo cassette system, center console with armrest and drinkholder, and power windows and mirrors as standard. The LS and GS-R also feature air conditioning, cruise control and power door locks as standard equipment.
"The new Integra offers greater value than any other car in this category," according to Rich Thomas, executive vice president at Acura. "When you consider that each model is all-new, with many additional standard features for 1994, it's clear that the blend of style, performance and technology for the money is unbeatable," concludes Thomas.
The 1994 Integra Sports Coupe goes on sale today at Acura dealers nationwide. Prices for the new Integra range from $14,670 for the Sports Coupe RS to $19,440 for the Sports Coupe GS-R. The all-new Integra Sports Sedan will be available at Acura dealerships this September.
