The agreement calls for the two companies to formulate a business plan that would lead to the launch of a network in Porto Alegre, featuring content utilizing ACTV's individualized programming technology. RBS is a privately held media company with newspaper, radio, cable and broadcast television holdings throughout the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina Santa Catarina (sän`tə kətərē`nə), state (1996 pop. 4,865,090), 37,060 sq mi (95,985 sq km), S Brazil. The capital is Florianópolis.. RBS's broadcast TV stations are affiliates of the Globo network, with whom RBS is a partner in its cable television ventures.
