LAKE HUGHES - Allaire Paterson Koslo wants to do more acting with a purpose.

That's why she acts in a group called Frogworks, portraying a dying frog or a bird, Jenny the light-footed clapper rail, in environmentally themed skits aimed at saving the Ballona wetlands near Los Angeles International Airport “LAX” redirects here. For other uses, see LAX (disambiguation).

Frogworks puts on its theater at places ranging from Pacific Palisades Palisades, cliffs along the west bank of the Hudson River, NE N.J. and SE N.Y., extending from N of Jersey City, N.J., to the vicinity of Piermont, N.Y., with a general altitude of from 350 ft to 550 ft (107–168 m).  High School to the sidewalk in front of the New York Stock Exchange New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

``You don't realize, driving to LAX, that there's this long narrow strip of a thousand acres of all this wildlife,'' said Paterson Koslo, who lives in Lake Hughes with her husband, actor Paul Koslo, who owns The Rock Inn, and their 2 1/2-year-old daughter, Chloe.

Paterson Koslo said that she grew up in Oregon, and the environment and recycling were important to her.

``It's always been a part of my life, but how do I make it more important or practice what I preach?'' she asked rhetorically.

Paterson Koslo and her husband recently ``adopted'' a two-mile stretch of Munz Ranch Road to keep it clean of roadside trash.

She has been acting with Frogworks for four years. She also has performed in works ranging from Shakespearean plays to the NBC NBC

Before joining Frogworks, she and a friend with breast cancer wrote a play, ``Purple Breasts,'' about the woman's struggle against the disease, which later killed her.

Paterson Koslo has performed the play from time to time for 11 years.

``I need to do more theater with purpose,'' she said.
