ACTORS, HIGH-TECH TO BE KEY ISSUES.

Directors, producers and others on the leading edge of the film industry will discuss the so-called "digital revolution" in Hollywood and its implications for the future at a two-day symposium this week.

Sponsored by the nonprofit Artists Rights Foundation, Digital Technology Symposium '96 will examine such issues as film preservation, film alteration and the use of "synthetic actors" in cinema.

"The purpose of the symposium is to highlight how issues of artists rights are both affected by and supported by new technologies," said symposium chairman Michael Backes, a screenwriter and founder of Rocket Science Games Rocket Science Games was a video game developer that created games for consoles and computers from 1993 to 1997. The company was responsible for games such as Obsidian, Rocket Jockey, and The Space Bar. , a software development company.

Tickets to the symposium, to be held at the Directors Guild of America, are available for $75 for both days and $45 for one day. Tickets to the banquet range from $250 to $500.
