ACTOR PALANCE HOSTING GOLF, FILM, RANCH BENEFIT WILD WEST-THEMED EVENTS TO AID CHILDRENS HOSPITAL'S RESEARCH FOR CANCER CURE.

TEHACHAPI - Actor Jack Palance will host a benefit golf tournament - and associated activities including a film festival, auction, barbecue and cowboy campfire - to support research into cancer, which killed his son.

The second annual Cody Palance Memorial Golf Tournament will raise money for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disease Research at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. .

The tournament is scheduled for June 30 at the Horse Thief A Horse thief is a person who steals horses. The label historically carries negative connotations of guile and depredation approximating the same weight of evil as a kidnapper or swindler.  Country Club at Stallion stallion

Last year's tournament raised $28,000. Organizers hope to double the total this year.

The $150 entry fee includes golf, barbecue dinner and entertainment. Nongolfers can pay $35 a person or $65 a couple for the barbecue and entertainment.

Daytime activities for nongolfers include a free Jack Palance film festival, bowling, swimming, miniature golf, and tennis or horseback riding horseback riding: see equestrianism.  with advance reservations. Bowling and miniature golf require a minimal fee, organizers said.

A Wild West show after the golfing will feature cowboy characters Larry Zeug, Al Frisch, Carl Walker and Sal Cardile, who appeared in western movies and with Palance in Taco Bell Taco Bell Corp., a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., is a Mexican-style quick service restaurant chain based in Irvine, California, United States. The restaurant has locations primarily in the United States and Canada, but also operates outlets in several other markets.  commercials. They will engage in a mock gunfight and mounted shooting demonstration.

Palance, a Tehachapi resident for years, will host the golf awards ceremony.

Actor Peter Sherayko will portray ``Buffalo'' Bill Cody during the barbecue.

A live auction will sell weekend getaways, airline tickets, decorator items and other goods.

Sponsors include Lane Furniture, creators with Palance of the American Ranch Signature Collection. The company donated a furniture set as one of the tournament prizes.

Other sponsors include Bull Rogers Inc. of New Mexico New Mexico, state in the SW United States. At its northwestern corner are the so-called Four Corners, where Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet at right angles; New Mexico is also bordered by Oklahoma (NE), Texas (E, S), and Mexico (S).  and Hemme Hay of Tehachapi, which is providing hay bale bale
