ACTOR BURT REYNOLDS NAMED SPOKESPERSON FOR QUAKER STATE
OIL CITY, Pa., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Quaker State Corporation (NYSE: KSF) announced today that actor Burt Reynolds, in his first national advertising role, will become the primary media spokesperson for Quaker State motor oil.
"Mr. Reynolds' reputation as an actor, and racing and automotive enthusiast, makes him an ideal representative for Quaker State motor oil," said Homer M. Ellenburg, president of Quaker State Oil Refining Corporation, the subsidiary of Quaker State Corporation that makes and markets motor oil.
Under the multi-year agreement, Reynolds will appear in Quaker State's television, radio, and print advertisements. Advertising for the Quaker State brands is handled by Grey Advertising, New York. Production of new ads featuring Reynolds is expected to begin this month.
Reynolds currently stars in the popular TV series "Evening Shade." He has appeared in over 50 movies in a wide variety of roles. These include starring performances in "Deliverance," "The Longest Yard," "Smokey and the Bandit," "Starting Over," and "Breaking In." This past year, Reynolds won his ninth Peoples Choice Award, an Emmy for Evening Shade, and the coveted Golden Globe Award.
Quaker State Oil Refining Corporation is one of the leading national advertisers of motor oil. It markets its brand-name line of premium quality lubricants and related automotive products through independent distributors and direct sales operations, and to national accounts such as large retail and quick lube chains.
