ACTIVIST KUBASAK, 84, DIES CIVIC-MINDED BURBANK MAN SERVED ON NUMEROUS PANELS.Byline: Holly Andres Staff Writer BURBANK - Always in the middle of the action but shunning the limelight, Ludwig Anthony ``Lou'' Kubasak helped shape Burbank politics for more than four decades. He was 84. ``If you had an opinion of what the city of Burbank was doing, he knew all about it,'' said longtime friend Gary Sutliff, a retired Burbank Fire Department battalion chief. ``He knew what the constituents wanted. ``He was involved in the City Council races but he was always an adviser, always in the background.'' Sutliff said his friend of more than 50 years had never wanted to run for the City Council himself. ``He said, 'Leave the limelight for those that need it,''' Sutliff said. ``He was very community-oriented. He was always digging into that community thing.'' Kubasak was a member of the Burbank Senior Citizen Board at the time of his death.
