bikers and in-line skaters at an open audition at Magic Mountain, this weekend is all about making it -- nailing tough tricks and trying to earn a spot on the park's performance "street team."

About nine spots on the new Action Sports Street Team are open, and Six Flags For the national flags of Texas, see .

California's Magic Mountain is billing the posts as the ultimate summer job.

On Saturday, amateur and pro skateboarders took turns soaring and spinning through the air in a mini-skate park set up under the shadow of a giant roller coaster What a bad CD-R disc is often called. See CD-R and underrun. .

Among the pros showing their stuff -- but not trying out for the team -- were Chad Knight, Dayne Brummet and Brian Sumner Brian Sumner (born June 2, 1979 in Liverpool, England) is a professional skateboarder for Adio footwear, Independent Trucks, Birdhouse Decks, Analog Clothing, Ninja Bearings, and Project Hardware. Brian went pro after only a few years on a board, he began skating at age 13. .

"These days, the biggest difference between the pros and the amateurs is their consistency and if they can do it under pressure," Brummet said.

Announcer Gregg Witt touted the amateurs as much as the pros as a sizable crowd watched from behind a metal fence.

Amateur Anthony Janow, 18, got some attention with a bank-to-bank ollie Ollie may refer to the following:

"He made that look smooth," Witt told the crowd. "That was one of the hardest tricks that went down today."

Also getting plenty of attention was Luis De Los Reyes Los Reyes may mean:

"; as he skated, his sisters and girlfriend watched from beyond the fence.

But De Los Reyes said he was not auditioning for the Magic Mountain team.

"It's real fun being able to skate and get paid, but it's just I can't get a ride out here all the time," he said.

The riders soared through the air, sometimes spinning completely around or grabbing their boards at the same time.

In between the tricks, Witt told the crowd some of the history of the pros -- how this one was from Liverpool, England, or that one had a home in Brazil.

As rock music blasted from loudspeakers, every few minutes a coaster train could be heard speeding along its nearby track.

"It's a lot of concentration they have to put into it," said Luis Valdivia, 37, who was watching with his son.

"It's just every ride they're risking their bones, their body."
