ACS gets Outsourcing Excellence Award with Oklahoma DHS partnership.


DALLAS--Affiliated Computer Services Inc., a Xerox Company, and the Oklahoma. Department of Human Services have received the prestigious Outsourcing Excellence Award for a partnership that has improved services and lowered costs by delivering state benefits and payments to citizens using a debit card.

The partnership of OKDHS OKDHS Oklahoma Department of Human Services  and ACS (Asynchronous Communications Server) See network access server.  received the award in the category for Best Applications Outsourcing, recognizing outstanding success in outsourcing of IT applications development and support. The award also recognizes excellence in collaboration and partnering to achieve business goals. The award is given by the Outsourcing Center, an online community specializing in thought leadership, best practices and innovation in outsourcing.

With ACS innovation, Oklahomans receive their federal and state benefits quickly, safely and conveniently. Citizens can access multiple benefits on a single debit card, including State Supplemental Payments, child support payments and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF, often pronounced "TAN-if") is the July 1, 1997, successor to the Aid to Families with Dependent Children program, providing cash assistance to indigent American families with dependent children through the United States Department of .

Electronic payment technology is also used by the OKDHS to deliver benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly the Food Stamp program The US Food Stamp Program is a federal assistance program that provides food to low income people living in the United States. Benefits are distributed by the individual states, but the program is administered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. ), and to provide authorizations recipients of state child care subsidies. In a program that was the first of its kind, recipients swipe a magnetic-stripe card through a terminal at the child care facility to verify the time spent by children at day care, increasing the accuracy and the speed of state payments made to care providers.
